What happens when you finish doing the work once, but continue to receive an income over a lone period of time? Most people call that residual income.
Well, there is a way of getting residual income without joining an MLM program or other type of pyramid scheme. It’s affiliate residual income from dominating a niche.
Many people create a website, get it ranked on the search engines and see income from that site for months, even years without doing much work to enhance the site further. Dominating a niche is another way of getting affiliate residual income.
Your site can be a site that promotes affiliate products or even your own products. And, every few weeks or every month or two you can add a page or two to the site and keep it attracting traffic and bringing in more money.
How do you do this?
First, find some products you would like to promote. It’s easiest if these products are not related to Internet marketing since that is a tough market to break into.
For example, check out new Clickbank products. If one seems interesting to you, check the competition. Find keywords people might use to inquire about topics that the product provides solutions for. Then do searches on the keywords on Google to see how competitive the sites are that come up on the first page. Determine how many of the sites have good Google PageRank. How many have the keyword phrase in their page title? Check to see how many backlinks the top sites have. And, make sure the keyword phrase has a fairly decent number of searches, say, around 50 or more a day.
One you find some keyword phrases that have low competition, you are ready to go to work. Buy a domain name containing that keyword phrase. Create website content dedicated to one of the keyword phrases. Add content and pages related to other keyword phrases with low to moderate competition. Include small ads for your products on each page.
Next, work to get backlinks to your site and your pages. Use social sites, article directories, and other link building techniques.
Once you get your site on the first page of the search engines you’ll be getting decent traffic and should start to see some money coming in.
Congratulations. You’re on your way to some nice prolonged affiliate residual income.
