Traffic exchange residual income comes from getting other people to join a traffic exchange as a paid member.
If you don't know what a traffic exchange is, here is a short description.
A traffic exchange is a membership site. The purpose of a traffic exchange is to display one or more of your web pages to other members. When other members see your page they may take action to further investigate your product or program or they may sign up for your mailing list.
Your web pages are displayed according to the number of credits you assign to displaying your pages. You earn credits by viewing other members' pages. For most traffic exchanges it takes one credit for your page to be displayed once.
You must be a member and log in to use the traffic exchange. There are free members and paid members. Free members must usually view two or more members' pages to earn a credit. Paid members may get a whole credit every time they view another member's page. In addition, paid members receive a certain number of credits every month.
In addition to viewing and displaying web pages, traffic exchanges also use banner ads and text ads.
Traffic exchanges are great places to display a short description of a money making program. Most people use traffic exchanges because they want to make money, build their opt in lists, or get people to join their MLM program. So, if you are involved in these areas, traffic exchanges are a great place to allocate some of your time and money.
Now, you earn a residual income at traffic exchanges by advertising the traffic exchange so other people join as members. When they do, you benefit in two ways:
- First, when members of your downline surf or view other members' pages, you earn credits.
- Second, when members of your downline become paid members you get a monthly commission, as long as they retain their paid membership.
If you are a paid member, you typically earn more credits when your downline surfs through other members' sites, and you get a higher commission for your downline's membership fees.
Traffic exchanges are a good way to promote offers that have a short splash page or a short opt in form. If you are in this category you can promote your product, program, or opt in list and earn some residual income.
Of course, there are hundreds of traffic exchanges. Which ones are the best to join?
The most effective traffic exchanges vary, year to year or even month to month. Often, those that are somewhat new are the best since new members are joining. Those members have not seen all the ads over and over again. So, they may be more receptive to your ads.
How do you find the most effective traffic exchanges? Traffic Hoopla constantly tests each traffic exchange to see how many clicks they get for their own ads. This is a good indication of how effective the exchanges are for your ads.
