Offer an easy way for people to opt-out from your list. You most likely don’t want to dwell on the fact that people may ask to stop receiving your e-mails. After all, it’s not exactly what you want to achieve as an internet marketer. Still, you want to give people an easy way to opt out. If you make it difficult for people to opt out of your list, you could damage your reputation! If you want to increase the chance of prospects returning to your list then you need to make extremely simple for them to opt out. Put yourself in their position, when you switch to a different telephone service or cancel your current subscription how do you want to be treated by their company? You wouldn’t want to have to go through a difficult and lengthy process, would you?

Be sure to write a subject line that cleverly sums up the message of your e-mail. Remember, that all you have is one sentence to get your message across. Be sure to design your subject lines in a way that grabs attention and will make the receiver curious because that is what will get them to open your message. This is easier if you are running a newsletter.

If you’re simply selling something, however, disguising your selling intent can be tricky. Of course, you want to make it clear to your subscriber that a product is the solution to their problems. The key is not to use sales tactics that are too pushy. Whether you have a newsletter or not, e-mail marketing is still superior to many other methods.

There is an art to e-mail marketing. A lot of online marketers don’t quite appreciate this fact, and that is why you see a less than optimum attitude reflected in so many emails. It’s pathetic because very many don’t bother to offer anything but a ‘buy now’ link. The truth is that you need to put some work into your messages to see the success you want. You will get better with it as long as you do those things and always keep working at it.
