Do you have a social media approach for your business? Well in today’s day and age social media sites are the in thing and they are not going away. After browsing a few polls online, I came to the conclusion that the average person spends about 2 hours a day on social media websites. This is valuable time you could be marketing to these people.
Facebook is the number one social networking site on the internet. It ranks number two in most site traffic, just behind Google. Myspace and Twitter are also in the top twenty of most visited sites on the internet. How could one ignore the marketing potential on these popular websites? You should have in place a strategy for Twitter, Facebook and Myspace.
How many social media networks should you join? Well the answer to that question only lies with you and your business. As you evaluate your success with the ones you are using, you can decide if you want to throw more time and effort into this marketing idea. But you have to start somewhere.
Now that you have registered for all of the social media sites, you should place a link to add your business to these sites on your own website. When clients or visitors see that you are also on the same social network as them, they will want to add you.
You may have come across websites that are useful to you in the past, but then you forget about them. If you added that site as your friend on one of these sites, you could receive reminders and news about what’s new.
Daily updates are an important part to your social media strategy. Remind your friends and followers why they added you to their friend list. Maybe they really liked your product and can’t wait till you come out with the next new one. Don’t be out of site and out of mind.
A discussion forum or group is also a great way to utilize social media websites. You can interact with your friends or fan base to find out what they really want. What do they want more or and less of at the same time? This is also a great way to build relationships and rapport.
Advertising on the social media sites is also a great way to reach a lot of people. Ads will cost money though and if you don’t have it, you better stick to the ideas we gave you today. Once you find the initial social media strategy for your business, you can always expand upon it later on.
